Your data at LabelNinja

LabelNinja is still in alpha
LabelNinja is actively being developed. Features, questions, design and how the game works may change. You may encounter bugs, and some parts may be temporarily unavailable. Feedback is welcome at info@labelninja.nl.
This notice describes how we currently handle data. If that changes, we will update the notice and the date above. We will clearly explain important changes in advance. Being in alpha does not change your privacy rights.
You do not need an account or email address to play. Feel free to use a random nickname. Requesting a certificate does not subscribe you to the newsletter.
Who is responsible?
LabelNinja is a project by Milan van Wingerden, who manages personal data for this website. Contact him at info@labelninja.nl. If you play through your employer or a trainer, that organisation is responsible for its own use of workshop results and any exports.
Playing and the leaderboard
We process your chosen name or nickname, a pseudonymous player ID, answers, score, difficulty, game code and the time of your round. The hosting provider estimates your country from your internet connection. We store only the country code with your result, not your IP address or precise location.
In public games, your nickname, score and country may appear on the public leaderboard. In group games, the facilitator and participants with access to the game can see results. The administrator can review answers to improve the game. Do not use your real name if you do not want to be recognisable. A pseudonymous ID is not the same as fully anonymous data.
We use these details to provide the game, feedback and leaderboards and to investigate errors and abuse. Our legitimate interest is a useful and safe practice game. Individual results are retained for no more than 365 days. Daily cleanup removes old results with a one-day margin. Playing another round does not extend the retention of previous rounds.
A certificate by email
Requesting a certificate is optional and available within 7 days of your round. We use your supplied name, email and result to fulfil that request. We do not store a readable copy of the name or email with the request in our database. They are present in the email sent through our provider Resend, which includes your certificate as an image and PDF.
To prevent duplicate sending and abuse, we temporarily retain derived, non-readable identifiers of the request for up to 24 hours. Email status without the address is retained for 7 days. Your game result and the fact that you earned a certificate follow the retention period of up to one year. Resend states that standard plans retain emails and logs for 30 days, with separate backups lasting 7 days. See Resend's information.
Newsletter
We use your email for updates only when you tick the separate consent box and subscribe. The legal basis is your consent. Resend stores the address while you remain subscribed. Unsubscribe through the newsletter link or by contacting info@labelninja.nl. After unsubscribing, we stop using your address to send newsletters. The provider may retain an unsubscribe record to prevent further unwanted sending. The one-year limit for game results does not apply to an ongoing newsletter subscription.
Technical data and reports
We use technical request data to deliver the website and limit abuse. Our application temporarily uses derived identifiers, including ones based on IP addresses, for this purpose. A question report, including your explanation, is kept for up to 90 days. Do not include sensitive or personal information in a report.
Your browser may locally store your language, nickname and technical game data to make the game work. This does not subscribe you to anything. You can remove these details through your browser's site data settings. Doing so does not automatically delete a previously submitted result. The periods above concern active application storage; suppliers' technical logs and backups follow their own retention schedules.
Who helps deliver the service?
We use Vercel for hosting, connected Redis storage for game data, Resend for email, and iCloud Mail for messages to our contact address. The game loads fonts through Google Fonts, which connects your browser to Google. Providers receive the data needed for their service. Processing may take place outside the European Economic Area. Resend states that it stores data in the United States and uses standard contractual clauses for transfers. More information: Vercel, Resend, Apple and Google.
Your rights
You can request access, correction or deletion, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and request restriction or portability where applicable. You may withdraw newsletter consent at any time. This does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing.
Email info@labelninja.nl and include, for example, your nickname, game code and date so we can locate your result. Do not send identity documents. We will ask for additional information only if needed to handle your request safely. We normally respond within one month. You may also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority. Scores are for practice, not automated decisions about employment or other important rights.
